For the price these are hard to beat. Quite a bit cheaper than it's name-brand competitor they work every bit ads well no matter the task I throw at them. Strong, sticky and clear it is the perfect tape to attach printed shipping labels to their boxes. The only problem I have experienced is that a few of them were hard to separate from the other roll (but not impossible). I have observed this with name brand tapes as well though so will not penalize this product for that.It fits perfectly on my tape dispenser and dispenses without problems. Great tape!

Updated review (previous review at the bottom):

Amazon has fixed the false advertising pointed out in my original review. The title of this tape used to have "330ft per roll" words on it. Not anymore. With that in mind, I've bumped up the stars from 1 star to 5 stars. This tape is still one of the best tapes out there, just like what was mentioned on my review at the bottom.

You have nothing to worry about this tape in terms of performance. If you have tried those expensive tapes and were happy with their them, you'd be as happy with this tape. And your wallet will be happy too.

As for the price fluctuations, I guess I'll just blame that to the supply and demand. This tape apparently made too many buyers happy, thereby creating a battalion of re-buyers keeping the demand high.

As for quality fluctuations as mentioned by other reviewers: this tape do suffer that unexpected quality changes from time to time. Their worst quality, however, is still up to par with expensive tapes in my experience. Then their best quality beats the expensive tapes hands down. That is if quality to you is based solely on holding power (tackiness, thickness, adherence, etc.). If quality to you includes clarity, ease of unrolling, silence of unrolling, pleasant to the smell, ease of separating roll from one another, zero bubble/circle marks on the adhesive, or anything unrelated to holding power, then this tape isn't "the tape" for you. This tape has an industrial soul.

Previous review below which had 1 star only:

When you buy this item, instead of receiving your order of ~2000 total feet of tape, what you'll receive is only ~1000 feet of tape. Please see included picture and video. Please click helpful too so that others could get informed as well.

Per title, you are ordering 330 feet per roll for 6 rolls (for total footage of 1980 ft), but they'll only send you 164 feet per roll for 6 rolls (for total footage of 984 ft). You are being shorted by half of your total order.

Because of that, this generic tape comes out twice as expensive as it appears to be. Their false advertising is serving them really well. Intentional? Who knows.

Performance-wise, you have nothing to complain about this generic tape. Just read the overwhelming positive reviews.

(At the time of this writing, the price of this tape was $11.99. Might change by the time you're reading this review).

However, bear in mind, at ~$12~ price point for 984 ft length only, this tape is in price neighborhood of a superior tape from a superior brand Duck. The Duck HP260 8-pack (which was also mentioned on the most helpful review for this item) is the better tape than this Sparco. This Sparco is about $1.22 per 100ft, while the HP260 is only about $1.38 per 100ft. The difference is 16 cents only per 100 feet of tape.
Duck Brand HP260 High Performance 3.1 Mil Packaging Tape, 1.88-Inch x 60-Yard, Crystal Clear, 8-Pack (1067839)  . If you use ~6 ft of tape per package, the Duck would only be costing you 1 extra penny per package, but the extra security the Duck HP260 provides is definitely more than 1 cent worth. Look below for comparison.

Specs comparison of the two tapes:
Brand: Sparco 60041 vs Duck HP260 8-pack
Thickness: 2.1 mil vs 3.1 mil (higher number means thicker tape)
Operating Temp: none claimed vs 14-140 deg Fahrenheit
Tackiness of adhesive: very sticky vs very sticky.
Frequency of tear outs while unrolling: some vs less (but both are in negligible frequency)

Their false advertising here made this generic tape deceptively cheaper. But in reality, is twice more expensive than advertised.

The thickness difference of the two is negligible because both feel high quality and both seem to have same tensile strength.

The operating temp is critical for packages sent to wide range of temp places like from desert heat to below freezing point. I, however, have not had reports of the Sparco detaching itself at their destinations.

The tackiness of both tapes feel very sticky. They both hold well at time of application. However, the Sparco doesn't have a claimed operating temp therefore may detach itself under extreme temps. The Duck HP260 claims to operate from below freezing point up to desert heat.

As for tear outs, a guess-timate would be: The Sparco is about once every ~20 yards, and the HP260 is about once every ~21 yards. Both are almost identical and so the difference is again negligible.

In conclusion, both are very good tapes. Sparco is relatively unknown brand and incomprehensibly priced ~same~ as a superior tape from a superior brand. The Duck HP260 is conclusively the better of the two tapes in all aspects.

Please click helpful so that others could get informed as well.

Why only one star if Sparco is an acceptably good tape? It is for sending me half of my orders only.

Update (3/4/16).....

I see someone had already clicked unhelpful. Could it be the manufacturer? I wonder.

Pros:
+ Adhesiveness
+ Durability
+ Thickness (2mil vs 1mil for cheap ones)
+ Quality
+ Price

Cons:
- Transparency
- Adhesiveness
- Peeling sound

I use this Sparco tape primarily for sealing 1 - 20 pound Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Boxes. It utilizes the durability and adhesiveness of heavy duty tape and the thickness of regular tape, which makes it easy to use with or without a tape dispenser. The adhesiveness of this tape is a double-edged sword: while it is strong, it creates loud noises during peeling and can tear scraps of packaging (ex. cardboard) off if you try to remove it. Although the tape is transparent, a couple of reasons make it unsuitable for covering QR/bar codes: 1) the process used to manufacture the tape creates random air bubbles in between the layers, which leave "imprints" on the adhesive side when peeling it and 2) unevenly peeling the tape from the roll leaves "lines" on the adhesive side. Despite the sound and transparency shortcomings, the quality is commendable and the price ($11.88+Free Shipping from MyOfficeInnovations) is unbelievably reasonable. Highly recommended for home & commercial use.

UPDATE 12-07-13 - To anyone planning to use scissors with this tape: beware the buildup of adhesive residue on the blades. This can happen regardless of how you cut it and will reduce the effectiveness of the scissors. Here's what I do to remove it (be careful when cleaning sharp objects!):

1) Cut a 2 inch piece of Sparco tape (The cause is the cure!).
2) Open the scissors and locate the residue areas on the blade.
3) Hold the scissors firmly by the handle and apply the tape adhesive-side down on the residue.
4) Peel away the tape (some of the residue should come off the blade).
5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the residue is gone.

I do this once a week and although the process is cumbersome and time-consuming, it is not enough to change my initial rating of this tape. I still recommend it!

UPDATE 4-10-14 - Just received a new batch of Sparco tape and there were NO bubbles on it whatsoever. Hmmmm....maybe the cause of the bubbles is the way the tape is stored?

UPDATE 4-27-15 - Still using it thus far. Quality has not changed despite buying from both Amazon and eBay and I've never encountered a batch with bubbles in it. This effectively bumps the rating up to a full 5/5. Buy it with no regrets!

Finding packing tape and comparing prices can be like comparing apples to oranges. Why? Some will simply say they offer packing tape but not tell you the length...you get it and there isn't much tape on the roll. Some tape isn't ant-shred so you wind up getting bits and pieces of tape when you peel on it. And some is just so thin it tangles on itself.

This is great tape but also at a great price.

The backing is 3.5 mil. The core diameter is 3" making it easy to put on a tape roller for packing. We use this tape in my shipping department.

It is split resistant, abrasion resistant, it is pressure sensitive poly.

Here's a key component: The tape length is 164 feet and the tape width is 1.88". This has to be compared to know how much tape you are really getting for your money.

The tape rolls are bound together in outer packaging and are easy to use. The tape has not split and is working perfectly for us.

I compared tape quantity with others online and this seemed to be the best value when needing tape quickly that's good quality.
